Full Text of Proposed Bill
Section 1: Clean Electricity Standard
The United States shall achieve 100% clean electricity generation no later than December 31, 2035.
Section 2: Just Transition Fund
There is hereby appropriated $50,000,000,000 to the Just Transition Fund, to be distributed to states, tribes, and communities for worker retraining, economic diversification, and infrastructure investment.
Supporting Arguments
The cost of solar and wind power has fallen over 90% in the last decade, making clean energy the cheapest option in most markets. A managed transition protects fossil fuel workers while unlocking an estimated 9 million new clean energy jobs.
